Plan For Your Own Peace of Mind.
Most people assume estate planning is only for the wealthy or something to “get to later.” The truth? If you have a family, a home, or even just a bank account – you need a plan.
This intimate, hands-on seminar is designed to give you clarity, confidence, and control over your future. You’ll walk away not just informed – but organized and empowered.
- Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026
- Barrett’s On the Pike, Bel Air, MD
- Free to attend, but pre-registration is required
- Light Fare and Non-Alcoholic Drinks Included (Cash Bar Available)

A Unique Legal & Financial Perspective
This seminar goes beyond the legal documents.
In addition to estate planning guidance from Marie-Yves Nadine Jean-Baptiste, Paul Applegate of Edward Jones will provide insight from a financial advisor’s perspective, helping you understand:
- How your estate plan aligns with your financial goals
- Strategies for protecting and transferring wealth efficiently
- How investments, beneficiary designations, and account structures impact your estate
- Ways to reduce unnecessary taxes and expenses
- How to ensure your financial plan and legal documents work together seamlessly
What Makes This Seminar Different
This is not a lecture. It’s a working session… You’ll be encouraged to:

Ask questions specific to your situation.

Participate in real-world scenarios.

Gain both legal and financial clarity in one setting.

Leave with practical next steps – not just theory.
Your Take-Home Toolkit
Every attendee will receive a Comprehensive Estate Plan Checklist – a powerful tool designed to help you:
- Locate and organize critical documents
- Centralize financial, legal, and personal information
- Document healthcare wishes and final arrangements
- Ensure your loved ones aren’t left searching during a crisis
This checklist alone can save your family countless hours, stress, and uncertainty.

Why This Matters (More Than You Think)
- Without a will, the State of Maryland decides who receives your assets – and who raises your children
- Stepchildren and foster children receive nothing automatically
- Poorly drafted Powers of Attorney are often rejected by banks and institutions
- Without an Advance Medical Directive, your healthcare decisions may be made by others – without your input
- Estate planning isn’t just about documents – it’s about aligning your legal plan with your financial future
